NEW YORK: Big Media Holdings has established a subsidiary that is dedicated to providing funding options for small- to medium-sized producers and distributors who have been affected by the global economy.

Big Media Production Funding will offer a variety of structures to producers who need financial assistance. The company’s focus is on multi-episode HD series. Projects will be evaluated with a per episode budget of between $2,000 to $200,000. The subsidiary will also assist library and copyright owners with identifying and negotiating with potential buyers. The staff includes veteran TV execs and investment banking executives.

"It’s a natural extension of the services we currently offer many of our clients who need help with financing their productions," said Jon Loew, the chairman of Big Media Holdings. "With so many producers affected by the slowdown in cash flow from broadcasters, we’ve decided to bridge the gap with our unique resources. We know the market for international television, DVD, IPTV and VOD and we can quickly determine the value of content, and help fund and/or exploit that content."
