STOCKHOLM/COPENHAGEN: A number of senior appointments have been made to the teams at Endemol Nordic, which has just scored a deal for Big Brother to go back on air in Sweden after being gone from the territory for five years.

Robert Jönsson has been named creative director for Endemol Sweden, which will produce the new run of Big Brother under Jönsson’s leadership. For the last three years Jönsson has been running Zodiak’s creative development operation The Distillery. Jönsson will be based in Endemol’s new offices in Stockholm. He is tasked with overseeing all of the company’s production and creative activities for the territory. Jönsson will executive produce the new Big Brother, which has been commissioned by TV4. This will be the seventh season of the show for Sweden, with the first six having ran between 2000 and 2006.

Endemol Nordic has also appointed Rikke Nissen, formerly executive producer at Nordisk Film TV, as managing director of Endemol Denmark. She will be based at Endemol’s new offices in Copenhagen.

Both report directly to Michael Porseryd, the CEO of Endemol Nordic. Porseryd commented: “These latest developments represent further significant steps towards our goal of establishing market leading production companies in each of the Scandinavian territories. The return of Big Brother in Sweden after five years is a fantastic first commission for our new company there and having first-class talent like Robert, Rikke and Eric at the helm of our regional operations strongly positions us for rapid growth.”
