Beyond to Highlight New Seasons of Children’s Titles at MIPCOM Jr.

SYDNEY, October 4: Beyond Distribution has announced that it
will be unveiling new seasons of the children’s science “edutainment” series Backyard
Science
and the live-action children’s
drama series The Amazing Extraordinary Friends at MIPCOM Jr. this weekend.

Beyond will offer up the third installment of Backyard
Science
, which will be available as
26×30-minute episodes or as 52×15-minute episodes. A total of 78×30-minute
episodes or 156×15-minute episodes will be available at the market. Already on
board for the third season are Super RTL, TV Ontario and Channel Seven
Australia, among others. The first and second seasons of Backyard
Science
have sold to the U.K., the U.S.,
Germany, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Latin America South
Africa, Russia, Finland, Hong Kong, Israel, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brunei, Indonesia, Venezuela, Malta, Singapore and
Colombia, among others.

Based on the best-selling Dorling Kindersley book of the
same name, Backyard Science is for
children aged 6 to 12, and aims to bring science out of the laboratory and into
the real world. Each episode features kids demonstrating easy, practical and
cool science activities.

Also available to buyers at MIPCOM is the second 13-part
season of the live-action drama The Amazing Extraordinary Friends, which launched at MIPCOM Jr. last year. A total of
26×30-minute episodes of the series will be offered. The series highlights the
story of an ordinary boy, 15-year-old Ben Wilson, who has a mysterious insignia
that endows him with amazing powers as Captain X. With the help of a retired
superhero sidekick known as The Green Termite and best friend Roy Bottle (alias
NightLite), Ben sets out to unite the world’s few remaining superheroes under
one common banner: The Amazing Extraordinary Friends.

The 45×15-minute CGI-animated series Numberjacks also returns to MIPCOM Jr. The series features superhero numbers who
help 3- to 6-year-olds develop early math skills. Numberjacks was consistently one of CBeebies’ highest-rated
children’s series in 2007 and is the biggest selling children's television DVD
property in the U.K. so far this year.

The animated series Milly,
Molly
will also be available. The series,
available as 13×30-minute episodes or 26×15-minute episodes, follows the
adventures of the two heroines and their friends. The Milly, Molly books have sold more than 3.5 million copies in 109
countries to date, with the series being sold to Australia, Canada, France, New
Zealand, Finland, Norway, Israel, Hong Kong and Portugal, among others.
