Beyond Concludes New Sales for Milly, Molly; Factual Series

SYDNEY/CANNES,
April 17: Beyond Distribution has licensed its 13×30-minute animated series Milly,
Molly
to YLE Finnish
Broadcasting Co. and Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), and has also
concluded a number of sales for its factual and lifestyle programming.

Targeted at
children aged 4-8, Milly, Molly is based on the series of books with the same name
and revolves around the adventures of two little girls. The series celebrates difference and promotes
acceptance of diversity, employing the catchphrase: “We may look different but
we feel the same.” Milly, Molly is a co-production between Pacific & Beyond, the animation studio
Scrawl Studios and Milly, Molly Holdings, with the participation of the Media
Development Authority of Singapore.

Milly, Molly has also recently been licensed to
Australia, Canada, Portugal and Hong Kong, with other deals pending.

Prior
to MIPTV, Beyond Distribution also racked up a number of broadcast sales for
its factual and lifestyle programming, with the fifth season of its global hit
series Mythbusters licensed into the Asia Pacific Rim territories, along with
renewals of the first season concluded in French and Middle Eastern
territories.

The first
seasons of the 37×60-minute factual series What’s Good For You have gone to French/Italy territories as
well as to Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
The one-hour documentary Secrets of Mary Magdalene, which uncovers the latest information
on one of the world’s most controversial religious figures, was licensed into
the U.K., Eire and Malta, while the one-hour Fat Man Slim was licensed into Western Europe. The
10×30-minute wildlife and adventure series Trent’s Wildcat Adventures has been sold into the U.K., Eire,
Europe, and Africa. Sales for the second season of the 6×60-minute series Wrecks
to Riches
were
concluded in the U.K. and Eire; and Operation Jumbo was licensed into the U.K., Europe,
Middle East, Africa and Japan, where MICO acquired the program for NHK.

Norway’s TV
Norge has acquired the one-hour In Style Celebrity Weddings 2007 and the one-hour Multiple Miracles. In the U.K., over 20 hours of
programming were licensed to Travel Channel International, including the
13×30-minute series Beyond Borders, the 8×60-minute Destinations Revealed and the 12×30-minute Global Nomad. Wedding TV picked up the U.K./Eire/
Eastern Europe and Middle Eastern rights for the 13×30-minute Manhattan
Matchmaker
and the
6×30-minute Single Girl Diaries. CJ Media in Korea also acquired Manhattan Matchmaker along with the 13×30-minute I Do…
Let’s Eat!
Both the
first and second season of I Do…Let’s Eat! have also been licensed to Profour Film for
Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

In France, Du
Cote De Chez Vous TV acquired the first and second season of My Parent’s
House
. In Spain, Televisió de
Catalunya has committed to the 6×30-minute Roo Gully Diaries, while Pretesa
has finalised the deal for the third season of the 9×60-minute Lonely
Planet—Six Degrees.

In Eastern
Europe, Television Romania has also acquired five feature films: Lantana,
Diana & Me, Over the Anvil, Heavens Burning
and Thank God He Met Lizzie.
