Bennett Media, Thought Equity Motion in Digital Co-Venture

LOS ANGELES/DENVER,
October 29: Bennett Media Worldwide (BMW) and Thought Equity Motion have
partnered for a co-venture to develop, produce, and distribute a wide range of
original programming for both digital platforms and traditional television
worldwide.

As part of the agreement,
BMW will serve as the exclusive supplier of programming generated from the
co-venture in the men’s lifestyle category. The programming will utilize
Thought Equity Motion’s vast motion imagery portfolio from a roster of
entertainment companies that include NBC, Sony Pictures Entertainment, National
Geographic, HBO Archives, the NCAA and Warren Miller Entertainment. The Thought
Equity collection now totals more than 4 million hours of footage valued at
more than $25 billion in production costs.

BMW and Thought Equity
Motion will recruit top creative talent and show runners to supervise each
project, such as Emmy and Grammy nominee John Scheinfeld, a documentary writer,
producer and director responsible for the feature film documentary The U.S.
vs. John Lennon
. His credits also
include the feature-length documentary Who Is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is
Everybody Talkin' About Him)?
and
the recently completed Heaven, a
new documentary film exploring how the world’s foremost religions view heaven
and how people live their lives to get there. Scheinfeld is the first of
several creators of programming who will spearhead individual projects stemming
from the Thought Equity-Bennett Media union.

“We are excited to join
industry-leading Though Equity in this innovative joint venture,” said Casey
Bennett, the president and CEO of the Bennett Group, the corporate umbrella for
Bennett Media Worldwide (BMW). “Thought Equity has brilliantly built its
company by securing content partnerships with today’s most significant news and
entertainment producing companies. The opportunity to produce new programming repurposed
from this vast library of quality footage is without limit. We also look
forward to working with such prolific producers as John Scheinfeld in creating
original programming utilizing Thought Equity Motion’s rich and diverse
library.”
