BBC Worldwide Unveils MIPTV Slate

LONDON, April 3: BBC
Worldwide will head to MIPTV with a range of British titles including The
Fixer
, Kiss of Death, Cranford and Life in Cold Blood.

The Fixer, currently airing on ITV, delves into the sinister
side of the police force. Kiss of Death, set to air on BBC One, is a drama revolving around the investigation
of a mysterious murder.

Following its launch at
BBC Showcase, Mistresses has
sold to 12 broadcasters in 12 different markets. Another international hit is Cranford, which has been picked up by seven international
broadcasters in seven different markets.

Ashes to Ashes will join other period dramas such as Lark Rise
to Candleford
, Jekyll and Oliver Twist on BBC Worldwide’s slate.

In natural-history fare,
David Attenborough’s Life in Cold Blood will be featured alongside Wild China, which airs this year in the run up to the 2008
Beijing Olympic Games.

The comedy titles Never
Better
and Gavin and Stacey will also be on offer, as well as the science-based
titles Moonshot, which
celebrates the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing, Oceans and Earth: The Power of the Planet.

Children’s titles in the
company’s catalogue include In the Night Garden and Animalia, while format offerings are the quiz show Brainbox and the model-search program Find Me the Face.

Steve Macallister, the
managing director for global TV sales at BBC Worldwide, said: “From
cold-blooded reptiles to red-blooded mistresses, and lunar landings to Jurassic
thrills—our catalogue packs a real punch this MIP. We look forward to
drumming up plenty of sales for British television up and down the Croisette.”
