LOS ANGELES: HBO Latin America has picked up the fifth season of the teen drama M.I. High from BBC Worldwide, while also taking on the late-night music series Later with Jools Holland, among other titles.

The hit BBC teen drama M.I. High centers on a group of highly trained teen spies, whose mission is to protect Britain from a series of threats to national security from dangerous villains. HBO Latin America also went for two seasons of the BBC music program Later with Jools Holland, as well as Ten Minute Tales, a collection of 11 non-dialogue films that feature actors such as Bill Nighy and Mackenzie Crook. Also part of the deal is the historical drama Secret Diaries of Miss Ann Lister, which follows the life of a 19th century upper-middle-class lesbian woman.

“The best part of this deal is how it showcases the variety of content available in BBC Worldwide’s catalogue, from music and dramas, to teen programming” said Helen Jurado, the VP of television sales and distribution at BBC Worldwide Latin America. “It’s great to see M.I. High has proven popular with young Latin American viewers. Lately, we’ve seen significant opportunity in the tween and teen genre, and we’re presenting some fantastic new shows at L.A. Screenings this week.”
