BBC Worldwide Secures Drama Sales to Ukraine

LONDON, June 13: Heading into this year’s DISCOP, BBC
Worldwide has sold four of its top drama series to the commercial broadcaster
ICTV in Ukraine: Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sharpe’s Challenge and Hotel Babylon.

The agreement marks BBC Worldwide’s first drama package deal
with Ukraine and follows a substantial deal with Latvian TV. BBC Worldwide has
also recently confirmed significant cross-genre package deals with Estonia TV
in Estonia and TVR in Romania.

BBC Worldwide heads into this year’s DISCOP with an array of
new dramas that include Jekyll, starring
James Nesbitt, and The State Within,
a conspiracy drama based in the U.S. At DISCOP, BBC Worldwide will also debut
the natural history title Ganges
and the preschool show In the Night Garden.
