BBC Worldwide Names New Digital, DVD VP for EMEA

LONDON, August 12: Simon
Hutson has been appointed as the VP of digital media and DVD for Europe, the
Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for BBC Worldwide Sales and Distribution.

Huston will be responsible
for developing a long-term strategy that maximizes digital revenue streams as
well as audiences for BBC Worldwide across EMEA territories. He will lead the
region’s digital distribution activity with local platforms in each territory.
He will report to Tim Mutimer, the senior VP for EMEA at BBC Worldwide Sales
and Distribution.

Hutson was previously the
head of publishing for EMEA’s emerging territories, expanding this role to
include digital both within and outside the region. He also led EMEA’s DVD
distribution activities and will continue to oversee this part of the business.

Steve Macallister, the managing director of BBC Worldwide Sales and Distribution, said:
