BBC Worldwide Names Executive VP for Latin America

LONDON/MIAMI: Fred Medina has been appointed the executive VP for Latin America at BBC Worldwide, with the newly created role beginning September 12.

Medina, who will be based in Miami, will be responsible for BBC Worldwide’s strategic development in Latin America and in the U.S. Hispanic market. He will report to Jana Bennett, the president of Worldwide Networks who acts as managing director for Latin America on BBC Worldwide’s executive committee.

Prior to this, Medina was the executive VP of corporate business development at Ole Communications since 2005. In 2001 he served as the VP of business development at HBO Latin America Group and later became the executive VP and general manager for A&E and The History Channel Latin America.

"Fred brings a wealth of experience in developing strong brands and new ventures in this vibrant and growing media market,” Bennett said.
“I am confident that there is great potential for Worldwide to grow its business in Latin America and that Fred will be just the person to develop these new opportunities."
