BBC Worldwide Brings Diverse Offerings to NATPE

NEW YORK, January 22: BBC Worldwide Americas is heading to
next week’s market in Las Vegas with a catalogue that includes dramas,
comedies, sporting fare, formats, children’s series and science offerings.

A new addition to the company’s format slate is Dance X, which centers around two well-known choreographers
going head-to-head to search for a new dancing and singing group. Known as Dance
War: Bruno Vs Carrie Ann
in the U.S., the
format premiered on ABC with 11 million viewers.

The drama series Mistresses will also be on offer for buyers. From Ecosse Television and
co-produced by BBC and BBC America, the show is a modern take on the lives of
four women who are involved in an array of illicit and complex relationships.

In animated fare, the 3-D series Freefonix is packed with futuristic gadgets, action, comedy and
romance, and features music as well. The series is a Cinnamon/Method/Toonz
production for the BBC.

More Than A Game—The Story of the World Cup gives exclusive access to FIFA’s film archive and
recollections from some of the world’s greatest players.

Additional offerings are the comedy series Gavin &
Stacey
and the science-based Earth—The
Biography
, a BBC/National Geographic
Channel US/ZDF co-production.

Jose Sanchez, the company’s VP for Latin America, commented:
