BBC Worldwide Brings CBeebies to U.S. Market

MIAMI, November 19: BBC
Worldwide Channels has launched its first wholly owned Spanish-language service
in the U.S., rolling out the Latin American feed of CBeebies on the DISH
Network, beginning today.

DISH Network, which is
currently available in 13.8 million homes in the U.S., will make CBeebies
accessible to all subscribers of its DishLATINO package and its newly launched
DishMEXICO package. The Spanish-language CBeebies launched in Mexico in August,
as part of an alliance with Televisa Networks.

Darren Childs, the managing director of BBC Worldwide Channels, noted: "The
introduction of a Spanish version of CBeebies into the U.S. Hispanic market is
a momentous achievement for BBC Worldwide Channels in this hugely competitive
territory. As well as complementing BBC America, which recently celebrated its
tenth anniversary, it means that we're able to reach out to millions of
Americans for whom Spanish is their first language."

Jessica Rodriguez, the VP
of channels for Latin America at BBC Worldwide Americas, added: "CBeebies
has captured the hearts of millions of children across the globe, and I'm
thrilled that we're introducing it into this important market through DISH
Network. The channel provides a safe environment in which children can 'learn
through play,' and I'm sure it will be as popular with preschoolers and their
parents in the U.S. Hispanic market as it is in other territories."

The Latin American feed of CBeebies features Dibujemos con Squiglet, which promotes creativity and imagination; Roly Mo, an active learning show with a
focus on storytelling; Tommy Zoom, an
animation tackling everyday issues, such as the environment; and Boogie Beebies, an energetic show
encouraging children to get up and dance. The schedule is led by Ragdoll's El Jardin de los Suenos (In the Night Garden).
