BBC Worldwide Americas Names SVP of Digital Media

NEW YORK: BBC Worldwide Americas has appointed Nick Ascheim as senior VP of digital media, effective May 16.

As part of his new role, Ascheim will help drive growth of BBC’s direct-to-consumer digital businesses across all platforms, including web, mobile and emerging technologies. He will oversee the commercial growth of the North American edition of BBC.com, which saw more than 38.7 million users in March.

Ascheim joins BBC Worldwide Americas from The Associated Press, where he has managed the company’s portfolio of digital businesses, including AP Mobile and the launch of APTop25.com. Prior to the AP, Ascheim was VP of product management at NYTimes.com.

Ann Sarnoff, the COO of BBC Worldwide Americas to whom Ascheim will report, said: “Nick has a fantastic track record as an innovative thinker and highly effective digital executive.
