BBC Three Commissions Factual-Entertainment Series

LONDON: Remarkable Television, an Endemol company, has been commissioned to produce a new factual-entertainment series for BBC Three, Hotter Than My Daughter.

The 6×30-minute series will look at the personal image rivalry between family members and close friends. Each episode will feature three pairs of women who believe their partner’s looks are affecting their relationship. Relationships include everything from mother and daughter to sisters to best friends. Both parties will stand before a style jury, headed by the presenter, who decide who is in the right. The "guilty" party will undergo a style transformation.

The managing director of Remarkable Television, Colette Foster, commented, “At its heart there’s a genuine purpose to Hotter Than My Daughter. It’s about the nature of modern parenting, female relationships and self-esteem, ultimately it’s a show about personal identity. We’re helping women to find their own unique identity so they can be their own person at last.”

Harry Lansdown, BBC’s commissioning editor for features, formats and specialist factual for BBC Three, said, "This is a fresh format that goes to the heart of competitive relationships, not only between mothers and daughters, but also siblings and best friends and I’m sure the makers of Snog, Marry, Avoid will make it a fun watch."
