BBC One Acquires Australian Medical Drama

SYDNEY, June 25: Southern Star International has sold the
long-running Australian medical drama All Saints to BBC One for a slot on the daytime schedule, beginning in July.

Produced by Seven Network, All Saints currently airs in Australia in prime time on Tuesday
nights and was the number one local drama for 2006. The series focuses on the
working and personal lives of the doctors and nurses of Ward 17 at All Saints
Hospital, headed by Nurse Unit manager Terri Sullivan. Sullivan is an ex-nun
who struggles emotionally with her love for an old flame—the married Dr.
Mitch Stevens.

Sue Deeks, BBC’s head of series program acquisitions,
commented: “It's easy to see why All Saints
is Australia's top-rating original drama —the characters are engaging,
the stories are compelling and the production values superb—we are
delighted that BBC viewers are finally going to have the opportunity to see
this multi-awarding winning series.”
