BBC Motion Gallery, Mochila in Online Distribution Partnership

NEW YORK, February 27: BBC Motion Gallery, the footage licensing division
of BBC Worldwide, has inked a deal to distribute its content to the 3,500-plus
members of Mochila, a global, ad-supported online media marketplace for text,
video and photo content.

The new partnership allows
for the syndication of approximately 800 video episodes and more than 60 hours
of BBC Motion Gallery Short Programs to mainstream media outlets, blogs and
other online entities through Mochila’s ad-supported program. Mochila members
will now be able to access content from BBC Motion Gallery that covers history,
nature, science, health, lifestyle, world locations and more, including footage
from award-winning BBC programming. BBC Motion Gallery content has appeared in
Hollywood hits such as The Queen,
The Departed, American
Gangster
, Eleventh Hour and Charlie Wilson’s War.

BBC Motion Gallery will
provide its content to web publishers on Mochila for free and earn a percentage
of the advertising revenue that accompanies that content. Mochila offers a
suite of customizable widgets, including its proprietary video player, which
gives web publishers options for leveraging this new content.

“We are excited to be
joining the Mochila platform and provide users with some of the world’s most
legendary archival footage,” said Clara Fon-Sing, the VP of BBC Motion Gallery.
“This partnership is part of our strategy to increase the distribution channels
for BBC Motion Gallery footage and introduce the brand to new markets and users
while increasing revenue.”
