BBC Leads Children's BAFTA Awards

LONDON, December 1:
Programming from CBeebies and CBBC cleaned up at the EA British Academy Children's Awards, taking
home 13 wins in total, including channel of the year for CBBC.

In the animation category,
CBeebie's Charlie and Lola Autumn Special
took home the statuette, and the series Charlie
and Lola
also clinched the win for preschool animation. CBeebie's In The Night Garden won out in the
preschool live-action category.

CBBC's The Revenge Files of Alistair Fury came
out on top for drama series, while Hedz,
which also airs on CBBC, scored the win in the entertainment category. In the
factual arena, CBBC's Serious Andes beat
out its competitors. And CBBC beat out CBeebies, Nickelodeon UK and Nick Jr. for channel
of the year.

In
the feature film category, Disney's WALL-E
took home top honors, while Ragdoll Productions was named best independent
production company.

For
the international award, Nick Jr.'s Yo
Gabba Gabba
won out.
