BBC Chair to Open IBC

AMSTERDAM: Sir Michael Lyons, the chairman of the BBC, will deliver the opening address at IBC this year, discussing the future of public-service broadcasting. 

The opening plenary session will also includes keynote addresses by Yoshinori Imai, VP of NHK, and by Ingrid Deltenre, the director general of the European Broadcasting Union. IBC, taking place September 9 to 14 in Amsterdam, is titled Challenging Mindsets in a Modern Media Landscape. Tackling the key issues facing the broadcasting industry, IBC will explore the changing role of pubcasters, as well as discuss how high-quality content will be monetized in the future. Also on the agenda are sports rights and 3D.
