Bavaria Media Scores Record Sales

MUNICH/CANNES, April 15: Bavaria Media Television concluded
a slew of deals with various international broadcasters at MIPTV, including selling
the telenovela Storm of Love into its
23rd territory.

TV 2 in Denmark picked up a selection of Scene of the
Crime
episodes, while Alter
Channel in Greece purchased a package of programs aimed at children and teenage
audiences. Additionally, Hungarian channel Story TV 4 secured screening rights
to all available episodes of Schimanski
and to the first installment of Storm of Love.

Austrian crime series The Hidden Word and Borderline were sold to Finnish YLE and Vienna Crime Squad will soon air in Italy, France, Hungary and Latvia.
Meanwhile, Spanish crime series Génesis closed new deals in Finland (SubTV), Bulgaria (Diema), Norway (TV 2)
and Greece (ERT).

“This has been a very solid market for us,” said Bavaria’s
head of distribution, Oliver Kreuter, about MIPTV. “When it comes to clients’
attention, we have probably reached an all-time high.”

He added: “All these sales are only the tip of the iceberg.
In weeks to come, we are expecting far more deals to be completed.”
