Bangladeshi Sesame Street Gears Up for Third Season

NEW YORK/DHAKA, April 5: Sisimpur, the award-winning Bangladeshi adaptation of Sesame
Street
, is set to begin production on a
third season of 52 half-hour episodes next week.

The series, produced by Nayantara Communications, will be
filmed at the Film Development Corporation (FDC) Studio in Dhaka for launch in
July on Bangladesh Television (BTV).

The third season will feature new Muppet characters, joining
Halum, a Bengal tiger, Tuktuki, Ikri Mikri and Shiku. The new episodes will
continue to focus on cognitive, social and emotional messages in literacy,
math, health, diversity, family and community. In addition, this season will
highlight topics such as gender equity, and recognizing and enjoying art forms.
