TORONTO: The Banff World Media Festival is presenting the inaugural Award of Excellence in Digital Media to Lisa Kudrow at the Interactive Rockies for her online series Web Therapy.

Kudrow is the co-producer, co-writer and star of Web Therapy, which is on lstudio.com. Kudrow will also give a feature interview during the Banff festival, discussing her transition from film and television to the web. Kudrow is best known from the long-running NBC sitcom Friends. Her film credits include Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion, Analyze That and Lucky Numbers. In 2003, Kudrow formed the production company Is or Isn’t Entertainment with actor/writer Dan Bucatinsky. Is or Isn’t produced Web Therapy, which will make its move from online to television on July 19 on Showtime.

"Web Therapy is one of those few online series that is truly of the web, and not just on it," said Ferne Cohen, executive director of the festival. "Lisa Kudrow’s work represents a big step forward for online entertainment, and we are delighted to honor her with this award."
