BabyTV Furthers Mexican Presence

LONDON: BabyTV has launched on DISH Network in Mexico, following on its debut earlier this year on SKY Mexico.

The channel is available in the Basic Plus Package of DISH Network, which is already present in more than a dozen states and several cities in Mexico, including Guadalajara, León, Monterrey, Irapuato and Mexico City, reportedly reaching 500,000 subscribers. BabyTV is also available in Mexico on Cablevision.

"This year has been a big year of growth for us in Latin America," said Liran Talit, the managing director of BabyTV. "We have more than doubled the number of subscribers we reach in Mexico; we have made a first entry in Brazil with a launch on Oi, and have also launched with Telefonica in both Chile and Peru. In addition, BabyTV has generated a presence in retailers such as Walmart, Carrefour, Fnac, Coscto, Soriana and others with the launch of its DVD collection in Mexico and Brazil. We feel that the BabyTV channel and brand and our values of being a quality family service, are well-suited to the lifestyle and culture in Latin America, and will continue to invest our efforts in growing the brand both on and off the screen in this market throughout the new year."
