Atlantyca, 9 Story, MoonScoop in Deal for New Series

CANNES, April 18: Italy’s
Atlantyca Entertainment is working with Canada’s 9 Story Entertainment and
France’s MoonScoop Productions to develop and co-produce a new animated series
based on the award-winning Geronimo Stilton book series for kids.

The property will be
developed into a 26×24-minute episodes and will be available for pre-sales for
MIPCOM. The three companies will share in the international distribution rights
of the property. 9 Story Entertainment holds the television and home video
rights for all English-speaking territories. Taffy Entertainment, which manages
distribution for the MoonScoop properties, has distribution rights for
French-speaking territories. Atlantyca Entertainment retains rights in Italy
and the rest of the world and will handle the North American distribution of
the animated series in conjunction with 9 Story Entertainment.

The Geronimo Stilton books
were first published in Italy in May 2000 and to date have sold over 14 million
in Italy alone. They have been translated into 29 languages, are available in
over 175 countries and the book series has garnered numerous awards, including
The Cenacolo Award (2000) for Publishing and Multimedia Innovation and The
Andersen Prize (2001) as the Personality of The Year. Geronimo's My First
Internet Manual
won the
International Children's e-book Award in 2002.
