Asian Sales at Imira

BARCELONA: A number of animated shows from Imira Entertainment’s catalogue are headed to broadcasters across Asia, along with titles from its third-party slate.

MediaCorp TV12 went for Saari for Singapore, while free-TV broadcaster ABC-TV5 picked up three Imira-produced showsVitaminix, Lola & Virginia and Sandra, The Fairytale Detective—for the Philippines. Skylife picked up the pay-TV rights to Sandra as well, for Korea.

From Imira’s third-party roster, the animated movies Supertramps, Christopher Coolumbus and Crab Island went to Public Television Service Foundation in Taiwan. In Indonesia, Global TV also took Supertramps and Christopher Coolumbus.

Christophe Goldberger, the head of distribution and marketing at Imira Entertainment, said: “Asia is a key market for our shows and one where we have made significant sales. Sandra, The Fairytale Detective has proven particularly popular in Asia, as it has done in other international markets. We’ll be attending ATF looking to expand our relationships in the region, not only with broadcasters, but with production and licensing companies in the region, as acquiring third-party properties for representation in Europe and Latin America is a key focus for us.”
