Arts Alliance Media to Acquire Hart Sharp Video

NEW YORK/LONDON, May 10: European digital film distributor Arts
Alliance Media (AAM) has reached a deal to acquire New York-based home
entertainment outfit Hart Sharp Video.

The venture, which develops, acquires, markets and
distributes films, for DVD, theatrical release and digital distribution, will be renamed Arts Alliance America. The
deal gives AAM a North American base with greater access to U.S. filmmakers and
the ability to seek out and nurture content for its digital distribution
network.

Joe Amodei, the president of Hart Sharp Video, will be
president of Arts Alliance America, based in New York and reporting to
London-based AAM CEO Howard Kiedaisch.

Hart Sharp’s most high profile release has been Morgan
Spurlock’s Super Size Me. Upcoming
releases for the new company include Roberto Benigni’s film The Tiger
And The Snow
and the company’s first
theatrical release, the mockumentary Chalk, the debut title under the “Morgan Spurlock Presents” brand
established by Amodei and Spurlock.
