APT Worldwide Scores Representation Rights to Lumiere Docs

BOSTON, November 30: APT
Worldwide, the international sales division of American Public Television, has
picked up the international representation rights for two documentaries from
New York-based Lumiere Productions: Democracy on Deadline: The Global
Struggle for an Independent Press
and Kansas to Kandahar: Citizen Soldiers at War.

Filmed on location in
Africa, Asia, Central America, Europe, the Middle East and the U.S., the
two-hour Democracy on Deadline: The Global Struggle for an Independent Press
follows journalists into some of
the most dangerous locations in the world. The documentary serves to illustrate
the risks that journalists face in order to obtain their stories.

The 90-minute Kansas to
Kandahar: Citizen Soldiers at War examines
15 months in the lives of citizen soldiers called to duty in Afghanistan. In
addition to following the soldiers, the film also explores the emotional impact
their deployment has on their family members and loved ones.
