AP: Simpsons Yanked from Venezuelan Airwaves

CARACAS, April 9: Televen
in Venezuela has pulled The Simpsons from its grid, according to the Associated Press, after viewers
complained about its inappropriateness in a morning slot.

Broadcast in an 11 a.m.
daily slot, the show reportedly has been replaced by Baywatch. Elba Guillen, a spokesperson for Televen, told
the AP that complaints had been received by the National Telecommunications
Commission. "They consider it to be a series that isn't appropriate for
that time because it isn't appropriate for children."

It is not yet clear if the
hit animated comedy will move to another slot on the Televen schedule. It was
reportedly the highest-rated program in the morning schedule.
