Antena 1, RCS/RDS Score Romanian Soccer Rights

BUCHAREST,
March 31: Antena 1 Television and the telecommunications operator RCS/RDS have
collectively won the broadcasting rights for the soccer games of Romania’s 1st
National League.

Antena
1 and RCS/RDS won the rights over Realitatea TV (part of the
Realitatea-Catavencu Trust) and Kanal D (owned by the Dogan Group). According
to Antena 1, the bidding went up to 85 million euros, with Kanal D offering
72.5 million euros and Realitatea 84.5 million euros, after the tender started
at 54 million euros.

Antena
1 is part of the Intact Media Group, which also operates Antena 2, Antena 3,
Euforia Lifestyle and Antena International, as well as radio and print assets.
RCS/RDS, meanwhile, operates across cable and satellite TV, as well providing
broadband, landline and mobile services.
