American Idol Judges Confirmed

BURBANK: FOX has finally unveiled the new judging panel for American Idol, with returning panelist Randy Jackson to be joined by Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, who has also entered into a first-look agreement with the network and with Twentieth Century Fox Films.

Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions has inked a first-look film agreement with News Corp.’s TV and film divisions. "Jennifer is a true entertainment powerhouse who has made a tremendous impact on pop culture," said Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman, chairmen and CEOs of Fox Filmed Entertainment. "Whether as an actress, singer, songwriter or producer, she is a fantastic creative talent, and we’re thrilled to be in business with her."

"We’re incredibly excited to have Jennifer join the Fox family," added Peter Rice, chairman of entertainment for Fox Networks Group. "From the worlds of dance and music to television, films and fashion, she is a global superstar with iconic and captivating style, along with impressive insight on how to reach and move audiences worldwide."

The milestone 10th season of American Idol kicks off January 2011 on FOX. In addition to the new judging panel, the season will see Jimmy Iovine, chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records, serving as an in-house mentor. Series creator and executive producer Simon Fuller commented, "American Idol in 2011 promises plenty of surprises and positive changes, and we look forward to continuing to innovate and lead the way for others to follow."
