AMCNI CNE & TV NOVA Sign Multiyear Distribution Agreement

AMC Networks International Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI CNE) has reached a multiyear distribution agreement with TV NOVA covering its sports and film channels portfolio.

“We are pleased to establish our cooperation with TV NOVA group by adding our channels to their Oneplay platform,” said Balázs Hajós, VP of affiliate sales of AMCNI CNE. “This carriage agreement with TV NOVA highlights a strong demand for AMCNI CNE’s portfolio of sports and film channels. Our heavy investment in exclusive and award-winning content will remain a driving force to attract viewers in the Czech Republic as we debut a wide range of new programming in the months ahead.”

The partnership covers AMCNI CNE’s sport and film portfolio in the Czech Republic, including on Sport1, Sport2, AMC and Film+ [RZ1]. The deal secures long-term carriage in the Czech Republic for AMCNI’s leading portfolio covering sports and film genres available from February in several hundred thousand households. Distribution of the infotainment channel Spektrum is also part of the agreement, though it will be launched at a later stage.

At the same time, this is not just about increasing the number of channels, but about building a balanced overall programming lineup. Alongside sports, we therefore also place strong emphasis on film and series content with a clear genre focus and long-term value for viewers.”

As a result of AMCNI’s programming investments, sports fans can enjoy local access to content such as exciting live coverage of top football matches in the UEFA Europa and UEFA Conference League with teams like Viktoria Plzen, Sparta Prague, Sigma Olomuc and much more.

On FIlm+ the needs of action genre fans will be met by movies such as Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Hvězda padá vzhůru (A Star Is Falling Upwards), Tenkrát na Západě (Once Upon A Time In The West), Prostě sexy (The Sweetest Thing), Bohové Egypta (Gods of Egypt), Anděl s ďáblem v těle (Angel Devil), Kamarád taky rád (Friends with Benefits), Vyhlazení (Annihilation), Dívka s mušlí (The Girl with a Sea-Shell) and Zvíře (The Animal).
