Video Interview: Amazon’s Paulo Koelle

Paulo Koelle joined Amazon in 2019 and initially served as the general manager and marketing director of Prime Video México. In this role, he led a team responsible for boosting the local business and expanding into Spanish-speaking Latin America. This involved launching multiple original titles for the local audience, as well as introducing Marketplace (offering channels and movie rentals/purchases) in Mexico and extending Prime Video’s reach into Chile, Colombia and Argentina.

Last year, Koelle assumed the role of director of Prime Video for Latin America, where he oversees all operational aspects and business expansion in the region. In this interview with Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, the editor of TV Latina, he discusses Amazon’s growing influence in the streaming industry, substantial investments in locally produced original content, the global recognition garnered by its titles and the company’s strategic outlook.
