Amazon.com Launches TV Show Stores

SEATTLE, September 17: The
500 new online stores launched by Amazon.com are each dedicated to a different
customer-favorite TV series, providing everything from cast interviews to VOD
viewing in one targeted destination.

The new stores will serve
as a one-stop destination for all things related to a particular TV show.
Customers can learn more about series through video clips, summaries and bonus
cast interview videos, as well as view episodes from Amazon Video On Demand.
Throughout the fall, Amazon Video On Demand will feature various free episodes
from a selection of prime-time shows, which will include a number of series
available for free prior to their TV broadcast, catch-up episodes and free
shows during their first week of broadcast. Customers can also sign up for a
Season Pass and watch episodes anytime using the new Your Video Library
feature.

Among the 500 newly
launched TV stores are Battlestar Galactica, including books, soundtracks, video games, toys
and collectibles; Family Guy,
with a storyboard animation clip from the show and all seasons on DVD; and Supernatural, featuring interviews with star Jensen Ackles,
series creator Eric Kripke and producer Sera Gamble.

“The way people watch TV
has changed dramatically in recent years,” said Peter Faricy, the VP of
TV/movies and music for Amazon.com. “To adapt to this changing landscape and
better meet our customers’ needs, Amazon has created products like Video On Demand
and TV show-dedicated stores to help our customers discover even more about the
programs they love, and watch those shows wherever and whenever they choose.
Amazon will continue to expand its offerings not only as a shopping destination
but also as a platform where customers can come to experience and enjoy
entertainment.”
