African Pay-TV Service Seeks Content for Seven Channels

LONDON, October 6: The
African pay-TV offering GTV has a wide shopping remit at MIPCOM, with a range
of genres, including drama, movies, factual, kids and lifestyle, needed to
stock its seven channels.

GTV will be on the hunt for
programs for G Prime, G Series, G Africa, G Sports 1, G Sports 2, G Xtra and G
Star, including top British and American drama, series and movies; factual
fare; kids’ shows; daytime talk series; titles on religion and education;
lifestyle content and entertainment formats. For its francophone channels, GTV
is also on the lookout for French-language movies, series, factual and
children’s formats.

Julian McIntyre, the
founder and managing director of GTV, is optimistic that GTV will be available
in more than 30 markets in Africa by year’s end, up from 20 today. “We are
always on the lookout for premium family content appropriate to our G channels
and MIPCOM gives us the perfect opportunity to meet talented producers and
content providers, especially the independents who want to break into the
African market.”
