AETN International Secures Format Options

NEW YORK, August 30: AETN International has secured format
options on three of its A&E original productions: God or the Girl, Confrontation and Spying on Myself.

God or the Girl,
where young men struggle between joining the seminary to become Roman Catholic
priests and settling down to have a family, has been optioned by Endemol in
France, Einstein Multimedia in Italy and Screentime in Australia. Confrontation, looking at crime from the point of view of the
victims, their families and the offenders, was optioned by Titan in Sweden. Spying
on Myself
has been optioned in the U.K. by
Diverse, marking the fifth option for the format. Previously announced options
include TF1 in France, El Mundo in Spain, Einstein Multimedia in Italy and STV
in Denmark. The format gives participants the chance to infiltrate their own
lives, using state of the art disguise techniques.

“Two years ago, A&E Network took a risk and added a
number of provocative and compelling original real-life series to its
schedule,” said Michael Katz, the VP of programming and production at AETN
International. “The gamble paid off, as the network has witnessed dramatic
ratings growth during this time. The stories told in these formats are
universal, and we believe the series concepts will translate successfully
overseas.”
