ADV Takes Shochiku Titles

HOUSTON, November 3: Texas-based Japanese animation producer
and distributor ADV Films has reached a deal with Shochiku for the series Le
Chevalier D’Eon
and the feature films Ghost
Train
and Synesthesia.

Under terms of the deal, ADV has acquired North American
theatrical, video and TV rights to Ghost Train and Synesthesia as well
as video, TV and VOD rights to Le Chevalier D'Eon for North America, the U.K., Australia and
English-speaking African territories.

Shochiku’s gothic mystery series Le Chevalier D’Eon is directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Get
Backers
, Rurouni Kenshin) from an original story by Tow Ubukata (Fafner). It is about D’Eon de Beaumont, an 18th
century intellectual who passed himself off as a woman. Ghost Train is based on the urban legend of the haunted train. Synesthesia is a suspense thriller directed by Toru Matsuura.
