Additional Investment in Canadian Production

TORONTO, May 2: The
Canadian Television Fund (CTF) has made an additional C$12 million in funding
available for productions that are applying for funding during the 2008-2009
fiscal year.

The amount will be split
between English-, French- and Aboriginal- language productions. As a result,
the CTF is recalculating envelopes for each broadcaster. Broadcasters will receive
new allocation letters to reflect their adjusted envelopes.

The Canadian Television
Fund (CTF) supports the development of Canadian talent, programs and audiences
through financial investment and industry research. Since 1995, the CTF has
contributed to the creation of 25,000-plus hours of Canadian television, and
has provided more than C$2.5 billion of financial investment, triggering the
production of C$8 billion-plus of Canadian television.
