ACTF Scores Disney XD Slot for Lockie Leonard

VICTORIA: The Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) has sold the second season of the live-action children’s series Lockie Leonard to Disney XD, which will launch the show in June.

Lockie Leonard, produced by Goalpost Pictures, is set on the coast of Western Australia. The show focuses on Lockie, who navigates his way through young love, his odd family and intense experiences of being a teenager.

"We’re very excited to bring Lockie Leonard to the Disney XD lineup," said Tracy McAndrew, the director of acquisitions and co-productions for worldwide programming at Disney Channels Worldwide. "We feel this series delivers on many of our core Disney XD brand values for our key demographic, boys 6 to 14."

"The sale to Disney XD is a great break through for us as the U.S.A. is always a tough market to crack for Australian shows," commented Jenny Buckland, the CEO of ACTF. "We’re thrilled that Lockie Leonard has broken the drought and can’t wait to see how U.S. audiences respond to this warm and funny show which brings real boys and all their lovable foibles to life."
