SÃO PAULO: The Brazilian Association of Independent TV Producers (ABPI-TV) is partnering with Achilles Media for the upcoming audiovisual content market RioContentMarket, which will be held in March in Rio de Janeiro.

The event will bring together some 500 content production, distributions, communications and technology executives with international decision makers, commissioning editors, programmers and creators. Achilles will serve as the international consultant for RioContentMarket, advising ABPI-TV with international contacts strategies and programming. The international seminar will host master classes, discussion panels, pitching sessions and business meetings.

“We could not be more excited about this new partnership with the RioContentMarket,” said Jory Groberman, the VP of business development at Achilles Media and executive director of nextMEDIA.

Brazil is emerging as a major player in the digital industry and I can’t wait to see what kind of insight a closer relationship will bring to our community in Canada.”

Ferne Cohen, the VP of the entertainment group at Achilles Media and executive director of the Banff World Television Festival, continued: “The digital industries of Canada and Brazil are both going through a period of enormous growth and change, and I think each country has a lot to learn from the other. Initiatives like the RioContentMarket and nextMEDIA are very effective at aiding that exchange of ideas and expertise, and will be a huge benefit to both countries.”
