ABC Makes Early Pickups

BURBANK: Among the shows to have already scored pickups for the 2011-12 season on ABC are Castle, Cougar Town, Grey’s Anatomy, The Middle, Modern Family and Private Practice.

Modern Family is currently TV’s number one comedy, while Grey’s Anatomy is TV’s number one drama. Season to date among adults 18 to 49, ABC delivers four of the top ten highest rated TV shows, the most of any network. 

Interestingly, favorites like Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition were absent from the list of early pickups.
