ABC Family Slates New Two-Hour Original Movie

BURBANK: As part of ABC Family’s annual Campus Crush programming event, the new two-hour original movie Teen Spirit, about the transformation of a shy wallflower into the ultimate prom queen, is set for a network launch on August 7.

Teen Spirit stars Cassi Scerbo (Make It or Break It) as Amber Pollock, the queen bee of her high school. After freak accident at prom ends her nearly-perfect life, she is given the task in her after-life to turn the school’s least popular girl into the prom queen. Enter Lindsey Shaw (10 Things I Hate About You) as Lisa Sommers, a shy girl with little fashion sense. Tim Gunn (Project Runway) plays a spiritual advisor to Amber to help her instill in Lisa the confidence needed to become a high-school social power player.

Teen Spirit was written by Kathryn McCullough and David Kendall and Bob Young. The movie was directed by Gil Junger. Executive producers are Steven Gary Banks and James Middleton.
