ABC Family Scoops Up The Blind Side

BURBANK: ABC Family has picked up the network TV premiere rights to The Blind Side, which stars Sandra Bullock in her Oscar-winning role.

***ADVERTISEMENT - ZDF Enterprises***The deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution gives ABC Family the rights to the movie’s network television premiere, with a debut slated for 2012. The film was also nominated for an Academy Award for best picture.

The Blind Side has a wonderful mix of optimism and heart,” said Tom Zappala, the executive VP of program acquisitions and scheduling for the ABC Cable Networks Group. “It is a perfect fit for ABC Family.”

Domestic Television Distribution. “The acquisition of The Blind Side is yet another example of how ABC Family and Warner Bros. collaborate to enhance the great ABC Family franchise.”

ABC Family also recently picked up Tim Burton’s box-office hit Alice in Wonderland
