Lifetime to Debut Sherri in October

LOS ANGELES: Sherri Shephard, co-host of ABC’s The View, headlines the new Lifetime series Sherri, premiering October 5 at 7 p.m. as part of a one-hour comedy block that also features the return of Rita Rocks.

Both series will feature stripped original episodes for a full week. Sherri then moves to its regular Tuesday 10 p.m. slot, followed by Rita Rocks at 10:30 p.m. Sherri centers on a newly single mom who is also a paralegal and part-time comedienne/actress. She is back on the dating scene and finds support from her girlfriends at the office. Sherri marks the first comedy series ever to be wholly owned by Lifetime. The show has been ordered for 12 episodes.

Rita Rocks stars Nicole Sullivan as Rita Clemens, a married working mom who tries to regain her identity by recreating her glory days as a musician in a garage band. Rita Rocks returns to Lifetime with 20 new episodes in its second season.
