Programming EVP Named at TLC

SILVER SPRING: TLC has tapped Steve Cheskin to fill the newly created role of executive VP of programming, where he will lead scheduling efforts and program development.

Effective tomorrow, the role sees Cheskin reporting directly to Eileen O’Neill, TLC’s president and general manager, based at network’s headquarters in Silver Spring. He will lead the network’s scheduling and acquisition team, as well as TLC’s bi-coastal development team. He was most recently at senior VP of programming at WEtv. This marks a return to Discovery Communications for Cheskin, was is a former general manager of Travel Channel, interim general manager for TLC and VP of programming for TLC. He has also held various roles at Discovery Channel, where he was one of those responsible for inventing Shark Week.
