Hasbro CEO to Give Keynote at MIPCOM

PARIS: Brian Goldner, the president and CEO of Hasbro, is slated to deliver a keynote speech, titled Becoming a Branded Play Company, at MIPCOM on October 6.

In his speech, Goldner will outline how Hasbro has evolved into a leader in children’s and family entertainment products and services, notably through its ties with the film, TV and video-game sectors. The toy giant’s flagship brands include Transformers, G.I. Joe, Littlest Pet Shop, Nerf, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Playskool and My Little Pony.

Goldner will also share his vision for Hasbro’s previously announced joint venture with Discovery Communications that creates a TV network and website dedicated to high-quality children’s and family entertainment and educational content built around Hasbro brands. The keynote will further shed light on the company’s involvement in movie production, which has included Transformers, which grossed $700 million worldwide in 2007, and this summer’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra. Goldner served as executive producer on both Transformers films and producer on the G.I. Joe film.
