Five Searches for Britain’s Best Brain

LONDON: Tiger Aspect Productions and GroupM Entertainment are producing a new eight-part prime-time series for Five that follows a nationwide search to find the untapped brainpower of potential contestants.

Each one-hour studio-based show will see contestants try to complete five tasks, which have been scientifically created to test a specific function governed by a different part of the brain (memory, co-ordination, numeracy, recognition and risk). Contestants’ performance on the individual tasks will generate a unique brain score, with the top scorers from each show returning in a final, where one will be ultimately crowned "Britain’s Best Brain."

Steve Gowans, Five’s controller of factual entertainment, said: “As a nation we are all obsessed with using our brains, whether it be through crosswords and Sudoku through to computer games that allow us to play tennis in our front rooms. Now this exciting new TV show will see who really does have Britain’s Best Brain.”

Andrew Zein, Tiger Aspect’s managing director, added: "We are incredibly excited to be producing with GroupM Entertainment this great show for Five. We look forward to rolling this project out globally with GroupM Entertainment."

Richard Foster, GroupM Entertainment’s worldwide head of strategy and distribution, commented: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Five and Tiger Aspect on Britain’s Best Brain. It’s a great example of companies working together on innovative deal structures for everybody’s gain."
