DAIT Asia Pacific Integrates Channel, Program Distribution Teams

HONG KONG: Disney-ABC International Television (DAIT) in the Asia Pacific is bringing together its channel and program distribution businesses under the leadership of senior VP and managing director for the region, Rob Gilby.

DAIT Asia Pacific will now include a newly created channel distribution team as well as a program distribution team. “With this integration we have ensured we are perfectly positioned to capitalize on the rapidly developing markets and multiplatform opportunities in Asia Pacific,” said Ben Pyne, the president of global distribution at Disney Media Networks. “By offering an aligned distribution structure, Rob and his team can further grow our relationships and provide additional value for our business partners in the region by maximizing the success of our diverse portfolio of programming and channels.”

As part of this restructure, Raju Venkataraman has been appointed VP of channel distribution. Remaining in his post as VP of program distribution is Greg Johnson. For the high-growth markets of Korea and China, DAIT has tapped Shinbong Kong as executive director of media distribution for Korea and Dai Hua as VP of media distribution for Greater China. All four executives will report directly to Gilby. For China, Dai Hua will also report into Stanley Cheung, the managing director of The Walt Disney Company, Greater China.
