Cyber Group Sets Up News, Doc Division

PARIS: Cyber Group Studios, best known for its animation and new-media portfolio, has expanded its operations into news and documentaries, with its first factual project recently scooped up by France 24.

Formerly known as Cyber Group Animation, the French outfit is behind the hit animation Ozie Boo, among other kids’ fare, and worked with Michael Eisner’s Vuguru on the online project Foreign Body. The company has now set up a division for news and documentaries. Its first foray into this space, a special report on kidnappings in Mexico, aired on France 24 this month.

The company is also expanding worldwide, with two new offices in Latin America. Cyber Group has also hired former Disney executive Doug Miller as a consultant to explore sales and co-production opportunities in the U.S.
