MTVN Bolsters Latin American Operations

MIAMI/BUENOS AIRES: MTV Networks Latin America (MTVNLA) has set up a new office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which will serve as the company’s regional headquarters as well as a creative center for both Latin America and MTV Networks International.

As part of MTVNLA’s expansion in the region, the company created the Buenos Aires Design Studio (BADS), which will work closely with Mexico City, Miami, Bogotá and Sao Paulo (Vh1 only) to service all of Latin America with on-air creative. Additionally, Buenos Aires will serve as of one of the designated production centers for MTVNI’s pan-territorial HD service, MTVNHD, whereby the MTVN Latin America team will be responsible for producing the network’s MTV Top 20 and the concert series MTV Live, among other content.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about this pivotal phase of MTVN Latin America’s development,” commented Bob Bakish, the president of MTV Networks International (MTVNI). “With this expansion our Latin American team has become a key component in the evolution of our international operations as we further align our brands and global assets to fuel more quality content and creative that is shared across the international network.”

“This has been an exciting project for MTVN Latin America and we couldn’t be more pleased,” added Pierluigi Gazzolo, the COO of MTVNI and president of MTV Networks Latin America.” The world class creative talent and diverse back drop found in Buenos Aires will no doubt take our brands to the next level and we are excited that MTV Networks Argentina will be a center for MTVN Latin America and MTVN International’s creative development and production.”

“In just nine short months we moved mountains to make our new home a reality,” said Paula Guerra, the senior VP and general manager of MTV Networks Argentina. “I am extremely proud of our team and grateful to the local community for their support and expertise and know that we are well positioned to deliver results both in Latin American and around the world.”
