AETN Gears Up for MIPTV

NEW YORK: Among the more than 270 hours of new programming in AETN International’s catalogue is Steven Seagal Lawman, featuring the Hollywood action star in his real-life role as a deputy sheriff.

The 10×30-minute series follows Seagal as he rides along with his fellow deputies at the Jefferson Parrish in Louisiana, works with homicide detectives and trains rookie officers in marksmanship and hand-to-hand combat. Steven Segal Lawman is produced by Granada America for A&E Network.

Also for A&E Network, Hammertime looks inside the life of Stanley Burrell, better known as MC Hammer. After having gone through some very public financial hardships, Burrell is back on his feet and living with his wife and seven kids in Oakland, California. Obsessed rounds out the slate, exploring the world of individuals who are debilitated by extreme anxiety disorders, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, panic disorders and various phobias.

Specials on offer from AETN include 102 Minutes That Changed America, featuring the sights and sounds of the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The two-hour project documents, using a range of footage and sounds from non-tradition sources, the time from which the first tower was struck until the collapse of the second tower. The one-hour Crash: The Next Great Depression? looks at the current economic meltdown in the U.S. and compares it with the 1929 stock-market crash. The special combines first-person accounts with expert interviews to help viewers understand what history can tell us about the future. The project was produced by CBS News for HISTORY.
