Imira in Italian Co-Pro Deal

BARCELONA/MILAN: Imira Entertainment has signed its first co-finance and distribution deal with Italian production company Neo Network for the new series SOS Cupids

RaiSat is already on board as a partner, and Imira Entertainment, which holds worldwide distribution rights for the 2-D series outside of Italy, is on the lookout for further partners. SOS Cupids is aimed at girls 6 to 12, and features love-determined heroines who will stop at nothing to make relationships flourish.

"SOS Cupids is a property with great potential thanks to its distinctive and innovative multi-platform approach," said Neo Network’s CEO, Pietro Bezza. "On Valentine’s Day 2009 the virtual world of the Cupids will be online offering a casual game platform with a totally safe social networking experience and a publishing products’ launch is already in place for fall 2009. We hope that the sassy humour of the Cupids and their style will conquer the hearts of girls everywhere."

"RaiSat is going to launch cartoon’s co-productions, a new business on which we are making a considerable investment," stated Gustavo Pacifico, RaiSat’s head of business development. "We strongly believe in SOS Cupids because it treats in an unusual way a topic of universal interest: Love. The irony, the intelligence and cheerfulness of this concept strikes right to your heart! No content is more adequate than SOS Cupids for ‘RaiSat Smash Girls’ the first and only channel in Italy wholly dedicated to girls between 8 and 12 years old."

Sergi Reitg, the CEO at Imira Entertainment, added: "This is our first co-production in Italy and we’re very happy to have such great partners as RaiSat and Neo Network. We’re very excited by this series, it’s a unique concept with a huge amount of humor—the Cupids might not always get it right but their intentions are always good. Girls everywhere will be able to identify with the complicated situations and the crazy outcomes."
